Mosquitoes, one of the most dreaded summer pests, can make outdoor activities less enjoyable. There are about 60 different species of mosquitoes in Pennsylvania alone. Mosquitoes are known vectors of many diseases (some potentially fatal).
They hunt for blood meals by detecting body heat and the carbon dioxide humans exhale.
Mosquitoes can breed in any form of standing water, including, but not limited to ponds, marshes, floodwaters, storm drains, old tires, and water in tree holes. Even the minimal amount of water collected in a discarded bottle cap is sufficient for mosquito breeding.
While no plan is perfect, instituting a mosquito management program can help reduce populations of these pests. Give us a call to discuss treatment options.
